And now…the worst part about going on vacation: deciding what to pack.

As I may have mentioned a time or two, I have a fairly extensive (not necessarily exPENsive) wardrobe. Which makes packing for a personal trip…complicated.

It’s times like these I imagine myself having conversations with my clothes. Really.

“Beautiful black ripped jeans, I know you feel like you want to show off your scary metal studs down in Mexico, but…you’re just too hot.”

“Hell no, embroidered swingy shirt. I’m still mad about how you flew up in my face after that gust of wind.”

“You don’t even have to ask, shredded denim shorts with the cute acid wash spot. Hurry up and get in my suitcase!”

Denim, lace, comfy knits, chiffon, challis…they all want to go, but…alas. I only have one enormous suitcase. And don’t even get me started on my shoes.

I usually start by picking out the outfit I’ll wear on the plane. Here I want something that will wear well, is comfy, and puts me in the right frame of mind for where I’m going.

This trip is no exception!

I have my outfit picked out (even down to the sunglasses) but I’m not sure what I’ll do with my hair.

Of course I’ll want to change when I get there, probably later that evening. I think I know what that outfit will be. I’ll need something comfortable for the tour of the ruins, and probably an outfit for afterwards. I’ll need my morning and afternoon outfits for the rest of the days, and of course my going home outfit.

Trust me, this is a chore.
