It’s the start of week five. Just one more week until I do the first official measurement of my 6 lbs slenderer self. HA!

People say they have seen a difference. Maybe it’s the gaining muscle/losing fat but I don’t FEEL much slimmer. I also am disappointed because I am like, 2 lbs behind my goal. Although if I see inches lost next week, I will be MORE than happy. In the end, I don’t care if I lose x amount of pounds…what I really want is to feel good – healthy, fit, and attractive. So I will settle for a certain size clothing.

Anyway. I cheated this week, a little. I had Skippers (oh joy, the grease!) and even a small bag of Cheesy Poofs. I justify this to myself by remembering I shared it with the Kid, so that it wasn’t me eating the whole thing, and it pretty much works because really: they were fukenrad.

I have to report that I have not yet broken out the yoga mat yet, however. I had a perfect day yesterday to do it and instead I napped. From all the exertion? Probably.

I need to exercise more, I think. I am feeling healthier and definitely don’t breathe as hard when I exert myself, but that just means I need to work harder to keep my heart rate up. I actually ran up three flights of stairs today. This is as opposed to dragging myself up step by step, feeling like I am going to drop dead any second or my heart was just going to pound right out of my chest.  Did I tell you guys that I have little conversations with my heart to keep it going? Yeah. “Come on, l’il heart! You can do it! Be strong!”

I have made several people promise that if I don’t return from my little stair climbing exercises within a reasonable amount of time…that they are to send the emergency squads into the stairwell, because undoubtedly I’ve collapsed somewhere between the first and sixth floors. Pep talks don’t always deliver the results, you know.

I couldn’t resist, I had to get a sneak preview. If I’m not imagining things, or measuring in the wrong place, I’ve lost 4 inches off my waist. That can’t be right, can it? I must have mis-measured or something. It IS rather encouraging though, true or not!
