Well.

There have been some remarkable advancements in the world of 2N since my last post. Sadly, I have been seriously remiss about posting about them!

Firstly, as you may already know, I took a trip to Mexico with a good friend of mine and was able to reconnect with my cousin and her beautiful family!

Not to mention taking in the gorgeous scenery and colorful culture. It was honestly one of the best trips I’ve ever taken, and definitely the most exotic. I want to save an entire post for that, though – so for now I’ll just give you a taste.

Secondly, The Kid has announced that he’s now ready for another dog. Lately I also have been feeling the lack of a canine companion, specifically and most notably in the middle of the night when I hear weird noises, and at the (frequent) times I drop food or other edibles on the floor. I’ve actually looked around a time or two, expecting The Dog to come around to clean it up.

Regardless, we’ve decided to get another dog. Two, I think, eventually, but for now we’re starting with an older dog that can be a sort of role model if/when we get a puppy afterwards.

I found an awesome group called Great Pyrenees Rescue Society, which specializes in Great Pyrenees rescues in Texas, where there is a high number of these types of dogs as well as a high number of kill shelters. They rescue these dogs, foster them out, then find adoptive families in areas like the Pacific Northwest where people love dogs and the weather is better for these types of dogs!

So, I’ve applied to adopt and been accepted. There is one dog in particular I’m hoping to adopt but I’m afraid of jinxing it, so I won’t say anything more here, but I will leave you with a picture of a Great Pyrenees puppy. Try not to expire from the cuteness.

More to come as I find out which new member of the family we’ll be adding in the near future!

In other news, work is progressing well, I’m almost through the hard parts of the projects I’ve been swamped with since the beginning of the year. Personal life is starting to pick up and head in a good direction as well, for which I’m so grateful. I’m looking forward to the future!

Hope everyone is well. I’ll post details of the Mexico trip next!
