I’ve been a part of a group on Facebook now for a couple of years that paints rocks.

Yes, rocks. Trust me, it’s a thing.

I, however, had yet to paint any rocks.

Till today!

The idea is you paint the rocks and then go hide them, in parks and nature trails and supermarket parking lots. Other people find them and it’s like finding a little secret treasure! Sometimes the rocks are kept and sometimes they get re-hidden for others to find.

So in these groups I’ve been watching people show their work and post about rocks they found, and I wanted to try my hand at it! So BandGeek went with me to the craft store where I came away with $75 in craft materials.

😐

To be fair, this includes about $30 in fabric and a pattern to make a new skirt, since the ones I found on the inter webs ranged anywhere from $89 to $250. Seriously! But that’s another blog.

Anyway, I got paint, brushes, and a sealant spray. I tried not to go too extravagant, since I wasn’t sure whether I’d be any good.

Not that I think I’m Michaelangelo or anything, but I think they turned out pretty good!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to seal these, finally post something in the rocks group, then go hide them in the park!
