tales from city lights: volume two
Quote of the day:
“I love the internet. I can watch a video of a woman with no arms making breakfast.”
This also is why I love the internet, except that instead of women with no arms, I have myspace.
Can I just tell you that there are now three people sitting at my table, all with laptops out, on either myspace or Google video. In the bar. Where people are drinking and playing pool. We are a part of an exclusive club called, “It’s Saturday Night and I’d Rather Be Online”. It’s totally exclusive, and no, you can’t be in it. Members: Prick, 2N and the Drinkslinger. Sounds like fun, don’t it?
Speaking of whom, I have the pics that everyone was asking for. I shall have to wait until I get home to post them, since I have no idea how to operate photobucket and my ftp client is on my HOME computer, not this one. Suffice to say, you asked for pics of the fabulously handsome and devilishly clever Drinkslinger, and I have delivered. In a manner of speaking. It took wild promises and much begging, but I have done it.
Oh, I did find this though: Clicky.
Okay, on to our next City Lights (which, by the way, is the name of my bar) episodes:
From the seat behind me, a young(er) girl: “Your dad is like, SO FUN to hang out with at a bar!”
From the drunk dude with a cane: “Hey, all you computer geeks need to get the hell outta here!” (I am presuming he was joking.) (If not, oh well.)
A fifty-year old dude completely drunked off his ass, like totally obliterated, just got forcefully ejected. He shook people’s hands on his way out and almost fell over. He had a younger guy with him who was totally completely pissed and irritated. I can only assume that he is NOT the dad referred to by the 20-something chick at the next table. I wish I knew more of the backstory but I was outside smoking at the time and so I only saw the results. That was fifteen minutes ago, and I think he’s still out there.
I would almost be a little self-conscious, sitting here in the bar with my laptop like a total nerd, without even a drink to keep me company at the moment, except that Prick is still here (Drinkslinger actually had to go do work-related activities) with his laptop out, so I’m not completely alone. Not sure as to whether this makes me more of a nerd or less of one, though. Maybe a nerd times two.
I think it’s time to call it quits. I said I’d do miniblogs, and quite honestly I thought I’d have more interesting things happening, but now it’s like almost 11, and I hurt and I’m tired and nothing really super interesting is happening yet. Perhaps it’s still too early for the REALLY drunk dudes.
Sorry these aren’t quite mini, are they?
