goal report: september 2019
Here we are, in October already! I am a day late posting my goal report, but I’m giving myself a pass. Just this once. Let’s get to it!
September Goals
Meet my step goal (6,000 steps/day) at minimum 10 times in the month. | PASS | Just barely! |
Cook dinner at least 5 times in the month. | PASS | Click here for my chicken corn chowder recipe, I made it twice! SO YUMMY! |
Have 5 refined-sugar-free days. | FAIL | I completely lost sight of this one. |
Have an ending balance of $150 in savings by the end of the month. | FAIL | |
Have 5 no-spend days. | PASS | I will up this for next month’s goals! |
September Takeaways
This month I learned that having a reliable and easy way to track my goals and accomplishments is key not just to keep myself motivated but also to track completion. I had no good way of tracking my sugar-free goal through the month, and thus didn’t remember or focus on it – FAIL! I’m going to drop this one until I figure out a better way to track it (if at all).
Finances are ever a struggle for me. I am working on getting a better handle on them, but failed this month in two ways – one, I didn’t keep track of expenses from my bill-paying checking account well enough, and second, as a result of that all my savings was transferred to my checking account just before the end of the month, leaving me with a month-end total of…four whole dollars. So it’s back to the drawing board on that one.
I continue to need to work on making movement and exercise a part of my daily habits. I did meet my goal, but mostly that was due to work travel in the middle of the month where I was working in an office and traversing the airport – so I met my goal every day that week. Had I been at home that week, I have no doubt I would not have met my goal. So keeping that one the same for next month, and I will make a greater effort towards it.
October Goals
This month I’m going to incorporate a few of my “business” goals! I feel weird calling it a business, since it’s just basically a side-hustle. So maybe I’m going to include a few side-hustle goals! Here we go:
- Meet my step goal (6,000 steps/day) at minimum 10 times in the month.
- Cook dinner at least 5 times in the month.
- Have an ending balance of $150 in savings by the end of the month.
- Have 10 no-spend days.
- Launch the Coffee Break podcast for Coffee, Grit, and Inspiration.
- Add three videos to my Scrapbooks and Stuff YouTube.
- Make 3 sales through any of my affiliate links.
Off we go!
