incredible shrinking woman week 28: prepping for gallbladder surgery

It’s November! Already starting week 28!

Pounds lost: 48.6

% to super goal: 38.6%

Doing the damn thing!

My cholecystectomy (fancy term for getting my gallbladder removed) is this week! So this week has been prepping for gallbladder surgery, all week, all the time. I am so, so relieved on the one hand. My symptoms seem to be getting worse every day and I feel like crap more often than I feel good. Which sucks because I’ve been making good progress in the last few weeks and I just want to enjoy being more healthy!

On the other hand, it’s suddenly hitting me that I am getting a whole organ removed – and all the attendant visions that go along with that. And the removal, and…ugh. Just, ugh. So I’m kind of freaking out.

I have planned my list of low/non-fat food I’ll be eating for the week or so after the surgery, and BandGeek took the day of and the two days after off to help me out. I plan to take full advantage. My sister-in-law and her husband will be coming over for the weekend, which will help too while BandGeek is at work.

I fully plan to wear my Sad Gallbladder shirt to the surgery, which I’m hoping will cheer me up and hopefully elicit a laugh from the peeps doing the surgery. Maybe they’ll be extra careful! Not that I think they won’t be anyway. But. I’m trying not to psych myself out by doing too much Googling. But you know me and my Googles. We go together.

I am planning to be back to work on Monday 11/11. When I told this to my doctor, I got kind of the “oh, you’re so cute” response. So I’m not sure how I will feel. I figured, I work from home, if I have to I can sit on my couch or bed in my pj’s, right? Right???

In other news, my Halloween costume came out fabulously! I even did a tutorial on my Scrapbooks and Stuff blog, if you want inspiration for next year. I used a Cricut Easy Press 2 [affiliate link] which has become my new favorite crafting toy – no blank T-shirts or hoodies in this house are safe. They will all be embellished!

So I’ll leave you with that. Wish me luck for my surgery, by the next post I’ll be in recovery and hopefully ready to start work the next day! Hope you all have a wonderfully blessed week.
