I have been so inspired lately! Seems like everywhere I look (online) I find more stuff I’d like to try or do.

Recently I’ve been getting into journaling (again). I have an on-again, off-again love for journaling, which I will detail in another post, but while on the hunt for ideas for that, I came across a site called “Making Sense of Cents“. Which is a personal finance blog. Don’t ask me how I got from journaling to personal finance; my Googles are strange and lead me far afield at times.

At any rate, I saw a post in which she recapped what her goals were for the upcoming month, and how she did on her goals for the prior month. I can’t stress enough how much this resonated with me. She also was posting her income report from her blog, which got me inspired in all sorts of other ways, but I’ll leave that for another post.

As you know if you’re paying attention to my weight loss series, I found setting little goals to be super helpful in monitoring my progress and staying motivated. I had never thought of setting personal monthly goals before, though. I set them at work – but they’re more long-term and/or deadline oriented.

I loved this idea because it is something I can do for my personal life and hopefully start to see some changes there. I feel so motivated lately, it seems like a good time to focus on making some serious changes!

So, I’m starting a new yet-to-be-named series (suggestions welcome) where on the first of every month I’ll list out my goals for the month and show how I did on the previous month. I am hoping this will help me stay accountable and see some changes in my day to day life, which lort knows is needed.

So without further ado, I’ll list out my August goals here, and the first post in the new series will be September 1. Let’s do this!

When setting my goals, I tried to keep them manageable and focus on the areas I most want to work on, which is losing weight, making extra money AND saving money, and eating more healthy.

August 2019 Goals

  • Meet my step goal (6,000 steps/day) at minimum 15 times in the month.
  • Set up business blog (more to come on this later!)
  • Set up Etsy shop
  • Meet 36 lb goal by 8/15
  • Cook dinner at least 5 times in the month
  • Have $50 extra in savings by the end of the month (I’m starting small here. Baby steps.)

Encouragement/comments welcome! Wish me luck!
